Celebrating 15 years of providing tranquility to the mid-Atlantic, Scotland Yards is commemorating this milestone with a brief reflection on the past, and a glimpse into our future.
Peggy Binzel sought after achieving her dream of having a place of peace within easy commute from her work in Washington DC. Discovering Scotland, Maryland was a dream come true! Peggy and her family had spent some time in Scotland, UK in the past, where they cherished longstanding memories made. She began to instantly feel the stress leaving as her memories of family and fun could once again be relived, now closer to home. Once she spent some time by the Chesapeake as her own vacation destination, she acquired a home to claim her stake in paradise. After a while, her dream grew. Peggy wanted to no longer keep this wonderful area a secret, but to give the opportunity for relaxation and an easy getaway to others, as well.
With a few spaces available, Peggy turned to VRBO to start showing the world her treasure. Scotland Yards Beach Rentals began to grow more steadily as more and more vacationers found sanctuary in Peggy’s rentals on the Chesapeake Bay. Over many years, Scotland Yards was able to acquire a total of 9 homes, now for the enjoyment of those within easy commute, and those who seek the Bay as a destination vacation. Perfectly situated between rustic living and tourist attractions, we are proud to serve those not only in the Metro DC area, but our distance travelers, too!
After 15 years, Peggy’s goal of bringing the beauty of the Bay to everyone has not changed, and continues to be the momentum that keeps Scotland Yards going. Our plans for the future is to improve our vacationers’ experience even more with rental upgrades, holiday packages, and more customizable options when booking.
